I started filling up holes in my house and put poison in them which got rid of some rats but the fucking cockroaches are everywhere, all food has to be put in plastic and so much of my good food got infected by them but literally just outside of my house on the road there is a literal breeding camp for these rodents jfl, muh parents are too high inhib to call for pest control here

You have to regularly clean and disinfect your house regularly, especially your kitchen, fridge, and cabinetry, especially in the hard to reach areas that tend to gather dirt, moisture, and food residue over time. What I've learnt is that you need to put in a herculean effort to keep your house clean. For maximum hygiene, cleanliness, and sustainability you have to go for a level of clean that restores pieces of kitchenware to the point where they are good as new.

Besides your regular cleaning paraphernalia and insectides, buy these cleaning tools: electric scrubber, steam cleaner, robot vacuum, drill with wire brush for metal polishing of stainless steel surfaces and brass burners (if your cooktop has them).

Also, its important to have your kitchen be built from moisture resistant materials especially for cabinetry and drawers. Wood is a breeding ground for insects.
