Precisely. There are plenty of incredible songs and albums that have been made under the rap genre, but it simply is not what it used to be. It's unforgettable history of sampling and remixing which was the bedrock for its existence has been lost and contaminated with modern synthesizers which should have remained localized to electronic genres, and they always use those horrible carbon copied presets with the mastering over the track that a deep house song would have. On top of that no one is creative in what they rap about anymore, and their rhythms are boring and predictable.

There are still places within America where rock and even country music is more popular: Utah, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, to name a few. In European countries like Germany, Poland, Hungary, Albania, Russia, etc, they will listen to rap but it will tend to be local producers.
