I was really young when Elliot Rodger did the funny back in 2014. Reading articles today its really difficult to find info on pre Elliot Rodger incels besides the foid who "coined" the term.
I just wanted to know: were incels treated like they were terrorists before ER? If you got into arguments with people online what would they call you instead of "incel"?
And after the ER event in 2014 how did life change?

JFL you are talking about his redemption like it was 9/11 and we are muslims who were affected by that.

I mean I'm pretty sure "Incel Terrorism" wasn't a thing before Elliot Rodger, and that incels began to be seen as terrorists by everyone

there was none

@Nordicel94 was active on puahate when ER used to post there, he may have some insight.

what now,,,im supposed to be an old man with long ass white beard who got kids round him telling them of old times
"once upon a time..."

None. Incels weren't a thing before 2014. It was the early days of there being any sort of camaraderie for lonely men.

I was in the PuaHate forum when he arrived there a few months before the deed. No, incels weren't treated in anyway because people didn't know they existed. PuaHate was created because of disenchantment with Pick Up Artists. Pick Up Artists we're pretty mainstream and they we're ridiculed, bur incels we're unheard of really. No one would call you an incel, they would call you "misogynist" or "MGTOW" = "Man going their own way". After ER Puahate.com, the birthplace of the Blackpill was shut down. People migrated to Reddit and SlutHate. People started becoming aware of the concept.

Funny thing is, ER was seen as a goofball and a fakecel in the forums, talked to him in a few threads personally.

Before incel we were called neckbeards and nice guys and there were some semi-blackpilled proto-incel communities like foreveralone and loveshy. What changed with ER is that normies learned that we are capable of violence and their treatment of incels changed from ridicule to fear and hysteria.

That's really cool that you were on that forum and got to know him.

Personally I don't think ER was a fakecel. He was slightly below average in looks and height, but his autism doomed him. Combined with the fact his family lived in a dysfunctional marriage, there was no hope for him. To top it all off he lived in California.

He was a goofball though. If you saw his videos he was extremely narcissistic.

There was no “incel” in the media before ER.

ER was a government plant to label virgins as threats and promote degeneracy.

He was hapa as well

There's been violent incels doing shit since the 1800's. They just didn't use that title...

I remember it being more like hikikomori and loveshy people, pick up artists were bigger back then too and were the more extreme side of it.

I guess the public image would have been the nerd, geek or nice guy archetypes. Aside from that there were no media image of incel except for bluepill movie where a really ugly guy or monster makes a foid fall in love with their "personality". The only people before Elliot where too niche to be in the public conscious such as PUAHate loveshy and TFL. From memory Elliot wasn't even called an "incel" rather he was called the "violent virgin" or "killer entitled virgin" or shit along those lines.
