The purpose of art, for me, is to reveal reality and dispel illusions. The better an art piece, whether it be in cinema or games, accomplishes this, the higher its quality. The most fundamental truth, or 'blackpill,' is that 'reality is suffering, and non-being is greater than being.' This truth is the most deeply concealed, so I believe that the more an artwork helps you recognize this, the more valuable it is

Common sense among plenty of artists actually. It’s why you usually see a lot of portraits naked for example. Not just cause it’s “beautiful” or in a “natural state,” it’s in a lot of ways to strip off any sort of modern repression and remain truthful to the person viewing it. You’re offering them that dispelling of illusion, like: here I have nothing to hide.
