Three circles are tangent to the line, the circles of radius R are tangent to each other and to the circle of radius r in one point each.

What's the value of R/r?

Hypotenuse is R+r with two sides being R-r and R
So R+r = (R^2 + (R - r)^2)^1/2
Which is R+r = (2R^2 -2Rr +r^2)^1/2
Raise both sides to power of two
R^2 +2Rr +r^2 = 2R^2 -2Rr + r^2
Which is ultimately 4r = R
