I, unfortunately, lack video and image privileges, so I can't actually post the video I have of this—but these very same women were actually round up by the French police and men who returned back after the war and had their faces shaven off and paraded down the streets. People wrote things on their bodies like 'whore' and 'traitor,' and threw various things at them to humiliate them. It was actually really based.

You'd never see such a thing happen in France today, of course. How sad.
