Western games mogged Japanese games between the 90s and very early 2000s. Japanese are masters of the arcade genre but westerners produced so many styles of games and pushed technology so much in this period there's no competition as far as i'm concerned.
Then shit when downhill between 2003 and 2005 and western games have been getting worse ever since. Japanese games declined too but not as drastically. And just as you thought western games couldn't get any worse, they all got infected with this SJW nonsense now.
The last game i truly, genuinely enjoyed has been Dark Souls, which shows the Japanese still have it in them, where as westerners are a lost cause now.
