I'm not necessarily referring to looks, although it's pretty obvious that we can't escape the halo effect of physical attractiveness whether we're blackpilled or not.
Positive reinforcement comes in all forms. When you put time and effort into writing thoughtful and intelligible essays, receiving attention and compliments for the most part, it signals to your brain that you're both good at what you're doing (or that's how the brain perceives it anyway) and you probably should keep doing that if you want to receive more positive reinforcement (which is basically composed of dopamine and serotonin release).
When you're completely ignored or treated with hostility, that's called negative reinforcement—it triggers a biological mechanism that makes you more prone to negative emotions. In case you're not familiar with the scientific literature on hierarchies, the brain regulates one's position in the hierarchy based on neurochemical positive or negative reinforcement.
Any time you're made fun of, completely ignored, treated with hostility, humiliated by your lack of status, beaten down by peers, it signals to your brain that your place in the hierarchy is at the bottom; that you're trampled under foot by those who are superior to yourself.
This happens in school, it happens in the workforce, it happens at home, and it happens on this forum as well.
Every time we see someone bragging about their height, their face, their status; every time we are humiliated in subtle ways by those who have supposedly endured suffering like we all have; every time we are gaslighted, brutally ignored, or discredited—we are thrown at the bottom of the hierarchy where submissive, beaten-down losers reside.
There is no solution to this problem. Some people resort to full aggressive mode ("if everyone's going to treat me like that, why shouldn't I do it as well?"), and others prefer to avoid engaging in direct confrontation.
Even in a place like this, the lowest of the low, the bottom of humanity, we see a life and death competition for power and status.
The strategies used by such people are surprisingly different:
"I'm more unattractive than you. I'm the only truecel here."
"I might be ugly, but at least I'm 6'2", not a manlet like most people here."
"My IQ is higher than yours."
"My post count is higher. You're just a greycel, bluecel, or whatever."
"I mog all the ethnics on this forum despite being a White truecel."
"I've had women approach me or like me on Tinder despite being ugly."
This is called bullying and bragging: two of the most used strategies to boost social status.
You either receive positive reinforcement or trigger negative reinforcement reactions on others. All because competition for power and status is rooted in your biology. All because, even in a place like this, your neurochemical system craves dopamine and serotonin triggered by positive reinforcement. That's why you humiliate your peers, brag about your positive physical and mental attributes, and lie.
