In the title you say "polyamory" and in your first sentence you write, "Polygamy." I am going to assume you want to talk about polyamory.

I do dislike polyamory and open marriages and whatnot.

But it does seem to get more men laid. This is because women are more able to effectively be polyamorous. You might say, only Chads benefit, but polyamorous people are notoriously ugly.

Polyamory means that a person wants multiple concurrent relationships, not just hooking up. An open marriage might mean polyamory, or just hooking up, or both.

I have two male friends who are married and on their first dates, the woman said she is polyamorous and my friends just went along with it. Now they are just tolerating it. One wife has a second boyfriend who lives in their apartment building. And the other wife hooks up with other guys from Tinder. The husband could theoretically hook up with other women, but that is just not realistically possible.

If a husband and wife have an open marriage, realistically, she will have copious options and he will not. So the husband has to suffer through that which sounds horrible.

If the husband is actually able to successfully get other women, he is unfairly taking opportunities away from other men. Married men are supposed to be "out of circulation."
