I think I'd be more entertained by a game that conquers land as the goal.

it was my first time playing the game, I thought playing a smaller nation would be easy enough, since they were pretty simple in CK2 when I took over england starting as a single county, but it turned out that's not the case.

I see, this is very entertaining to read tbh what happened after taking england ?

tbf I didn't understand how tech or anything worked, I'll have to try again at some point once I learn the mechanics better.

Well it’s not about the conquest. It’s about the politics and economy. There’s a little conquest like my invasion of Belgium, China etc. but also a lot of politics and shit. There’s spheres of influence which simulates Victorian politics.

It’s not just conquest happy gay shit, and that’s epic. Although I haven’t unlocked world wars yet (starts in 1900 I’m in like 1899) and when world wars are unlocked empires and nations actually do get dismantled.

Update: almost about to tag switch to America,

I did very well I think as England, taking advantage of every single colonial settler bonus getting a peak settler gain of 205 a year and 4 colonists. Compared to Portugal’s 75 and Frances 45. That means I was getting 4 new provinces every 9 years.

this was all done within about 80 years, and my colony (which I’m about to release and play as and then form america with) has over 400 development, putting it as a great power, stacked with the money I’m going to give it (which will be like 6-10k ducats) and me spending all my remaining monarch points on it, I will probably be a mid great power when I release myself. I chose to release myself right after I got done with my golden age to maximize my start as america
