Well yeah thats kind of the point of them in the first place, as a means to direct our nervous system towards ends that support our survival and reproduction. Perhaps in hunter gatherer times this "addiction" of sorts was adaptive. Now of course modern society/social media/industrialization has fucked that whole system up.
