I've noticed this quite a bit recently.
For example my housemate, who bashed the doors in this houseshare so hard that it actually dislodged them a bit and now they seem to be slightly skew and have signs of damage.
The reason? Because she thought people above her were making too much noise.
It's like some people genuinely don't understand that that is overreacting. Even if you do have a grievance, it doesn't mean you can just completely go off and start damaging property, attacking people, or whatever else.
