OP is poorly paced and really predictable. I guess it's consistent though which might explain why it's so popular. I have tried to get back into it 3 different times since I stopped following it as a kid but I still can't get interested.

It's pretty uncanny how so many of the arcs are thematically the same. The Marineford arc is a breath of fresh air but that's ~450 episodes which is part of the problem

Pretty apt. I don't think SJ has any series with the potential to consistently pump out chapters for 25 years, especially since so many popular Shonen nowadays actively dislike the trope of drawn out battles
