I've been replaying Ocarina of Time again, and I have to say there's many things in the original that are better than the 3ds remake.
• walls that can be broken with bombs are less apparent adding some actual level of thought into these puzzles. Although, it's not considerable.
• you can actually roll to negate damage when falling off high places. For whatever reason, the 3ds does not allow you to do this despite the game telling you it's possible.
• dungeons have a much better atmosphere in terms of lighting.
• bottom of the well is more disturbing due to the presence of blood
• the water temple isn't ruined by a tip that spoils a significant puzzle. Although, it is more tedious due to having to go into the menu to change boots.
• Ganon's right has more atmosphere.
Ocarina of Time is certainly more pretty, but I don't think it's a great remake that respects the original and fulfills the original artistic vision. Arguably, it's a bad way to first experience the game because it ruins puzzles.
