I like to observe crows and pigeons whenever I can and I can clearly see they have social cohesion.
Often crows scavenge for bugs and worms in scattered groups, usually there will also be a lookout. Sometimes they do it in pair with ravens doing so in pairs more often, around 10-20 meters apart. This is done so that if a crow is caught, all other crows don't die.
Pigeons and crows have started working together. A crow on a rooftop alerted a pigeon on the ground of my presence and it flew up to the rooftop, the crow followed me for a bit.
Pigeons & crows in cities quite often display suicidal behaviour by walking infront of cars, they are also more lethargic and slower at flight. Covid forced these birds to scavenge so I believe there are a lot more of them outside of cities compared to 10 years ago.
