If you were truly subhuman, I'd say he was simply keeping you around to make himself look better in comparison; but you're a MTN/possible future HTN youngcel, so unless he's giving you valuable opportunities I would leave him at the first sign of belittlement or mocking.

With some people I do get the feeling they're basically sniffing around for any kind of weakness.
