I don’t disagree they suffer malnutrition, but the reason why is because they have suffered an American embargo from every nation in the world and even their sole ally, China, gets threatened by America if their companies break it.
If you look back in history when the USSR was around and the US, SK, and Japan couldn’t effectively blockade them, they were far richer and developed than South Korea

North Koreans have been industrialized for some 100 years or more by now, curries are agrarian feudal mediaeval tier peasants in the modern world. North Koreans were the richest after the Japs in Asia up until 1979, their industry just got obsolete and fell out of demand as the Soviet economy died.
