They need someone to look down on to gratify their own misgivings and failures. Without the hikikomori or NEET, the menial laborer would be absolutely miserable and desire an unobtainable removal from the tedium and futility of drudgery; by comparing themselves to others of perceived misfortune, laborers will believe themselves to be far better off than their unemployed opposites. Similarly, lovers contrast themselves with the loveless, even if they are getting cuckolded they convince themselves those without love are miserable and worse for wear; in the moment of this self-deceit, they vindicate all of their woes and regrets. That is why society necessitates an underclass, in fact, every system needs one. Otherwise, it will lose its collective unity and dissolve into a cesspool of in-fighting and contention. Incels provide modern society with the perfect underclass to demonstrate and exercise its aggressive dissemination against controversy. The processes of modernity are facilitated and expedited by the extirpation of controversy, and incels are by far the most conspicuous paradigms of controversy. Our having been initially subverted was a consequence of the society-wide refutation of unwanted men's concerns and dissent, nigh it progresses to the overt denial of our conscience and liberty through an elaborate smear campaign. The only recourse for this is the subtle and gradual validation of society's partisan, capricious, and disputatious attitude concerning men and their sexual frustration—something that will never occur because it would admit many of the issues caused by intense regulation and crowd-control.
This isn't about whittling down the competition, involuntary celibacy is the artificial byproduct of overpopulation coupled with general decadence and value-degeneration. The ideals of the ordinary involuntary celibate coincide with the experiences of alienation and ostracism, and throughout history, these same ideals have emerged and reverberated under the guise of many ideological evolutions; however, their essence has persisted as an immutable understanding of civilization and its discontents.
