A lot of people really aren't cut out for being in true isolation. There is a reason solitary confinement is considered cruel and unusual punishment for many people. Sitting in your room with access to the internet and knowing you have the ability to go anywhere and do anything doesn't really compare with the real deal where you know you cannot do anything even if you tried. Even jail doesn't count as sensory deprivation since you are able to tell the passage of time and have basic interactions with other people.
