Every type of social media is all about normalfags getting their dopamine fix, Websites the were once made for people to connect with each other have changed their algorithms and UI to promote scrollslop in which users only interact with "content" by viewing it and moving on to the next piece of "content", This is why despite viewership being higher on these sites the comment rate couldn't be any lower.
It wasn't always like this, Take a look at YouTube for example. Comment sections for videos used to quite active with people constantly replying to each other discussing the video (or going on unrelated rants) You can see these through the surviving comments of very old videos (The Google+ merge erased a lot of old YouTube comments). Now it's not uncommon to for a comment section on a popular video to be dead only a couple of days after a video releases.
This decline in comment rate directly correlates with the normalfag take over of the internet that while started in 2007 with invention of the smartphone didn't fully start taking effect until 2014 when most internet websites updated to be more mobile friendly, Normalfags really do ruin everything that they touch.
