They are not South Asians, they are West Asians/Central Asians. They originate from Afghanistan. Many migrated to South Asia and the majority lives there now. They are not Indic, but Iranic. Only Indic people are South Asians.

They're 45 million Pashtuns in Pakistan, 5 million Kashmiris and 29 million Baloch in Pakistan. They're practically 60% of the country. Imran Khan who boned Jemima Goldsmith was a Pakistani Pashtun.

Kashmiris are Indic, Baloch and Pashtuns are Iranic. To say they are Persians is wrong. Not to mention they don't live in India. Combined they total around less than 20%. Pakistan is overwhelmingly Indic. Punjabis alone make up nearly half the population.

Afghanistan itself is a south asian country. Central asia ends in Tajikistan whereas west Asia begins from Iran and thereby afghanistan is in South Asia. Get that lust of central/western asian tag out of your head. You are a south asian just because you speak an iranic language doesn't mean you are geographically iranic. Even North east Indians, Ladakhis, Baltis and Bhutanese don't speak Indic languages, does it mean they arn't South asian? No they reside in South asia and hence curry.
