I have to agree with this. I am not a POC, but I have a neighbor who constantly corners me to talk about our other neighbors. I think it’s because I’m the only other white neighbor but it’s super uncomfortable and I’ve had to correct the person a few times about people’s actual race.
Like someone said earlier, I’m not Chinese, I’m Korean. This sounds like it would be coming from my neighbor.\

Does she live in a black-majority neighbourhood? I've seen a bunch of tweets where blacks were making fun of Asians claiming to be POC. If she really has just one white neighbour, I can definitely imagine that neighbourhood being a place where she's seen as more or less white by the others.

Also, there was another article on I think Quartz or something, about Africa's tech startups if I remember correctly, where they interviewed some youngsters who said that "technology isn't just for white people anymore", with the editors pointing out that they were talking about the Chinese when they said "white people", since they said it when asked about Chinese help to Africa and so on.
