Nintendo has stated that Mario and Peach are just friends. This is absolutely outrageous and a confirmation of what I suspected: Nintendo made Peach dump Mario at the end of Odyssey to push her as an independent girl boss.

In classic Mario, REAL MARIO, Peach would smooch Mario and show obvious signs of infatuation.

I always liked this relationship as Mario is neither extremely tall or attractive.
