Yasuke was still not a samurai. he was a retainer yes, but he did nothing more than carry oda's swords. Yasuke was just a curio for oda to show off and make him do party tricks. Yasuke was given property, but that was more to protect him from the locals thinking he was a demon due him not looking Japanese at all, that and Yasuke had a handler when he was out and about.
Yasuke should have been a fun little side character you see on one mission, make him try talk with oda before you have to go further into the mission.
