New to the site Can someone explain "sub/5/8/2/etc"?

I just started browsing the threads and I didn't know what half of the comments were saying
Feeling like a dumbass I read through the glossy and the only thing I still don't get is the sub-number
What number determines what?
Is it sub2 = 2/10?

How do people know what sub they're considered?

"subN" means all looks rating lower than N where N is generally a positive real number.
Therefore "sub6" means all people with looks rating 5,4,3,2,1 and 0.

How do people know what sub they're considered?

It's subjective but a quick Google image search for 'looks scale men' will give you some charts based on physical attractiveness and you can place yourself on that. If you're feeling brave, you can post your picture and ask for opinions, but I wouldn't recommend doing that because you'll be doxxing yourself (exposing your identity).
