I'm actually looking forward to this. I just hope it does better than Crash 4.

Toys For Bob is making it, as expected. Spyro looks a bit different or maybe I am seeing things.
The trailer looks too serious. Hope the game won't take itself too serious, like in the original trilogy.
And as I've said it before, you will be able to fly in every level.
So much for platforming.
While I do realise that as a dragon Spyro should eventually be able to fly at will, not just in specific levels, this feels a departure from the past.
From what I have seen, the game could run on last gen consoles, but they've refused to make a version for those console.
Shame on them.
I might pirate it at first, to check for woke shit. If it is free of the woke and subversive political themes and I like the game, I will buy it for PC. That is if it runs flawlessly like the Reignited Trilogy did on PC.
Now that one was a blast on PC, except for the physics only working properly at 30 fps, but it was very playable still.
He flew in the games but only for short bursts, hopefully they'll still keep what makes spyro great in this new one
I'll wait to see when the game releases, toys for bobs did a good job with the reignited trilogy so i'm hoping they can deliver something at least decent enough. It won't be as good as those OG games but i'm starved for some new spyro so i'll take what I can get.

It is not strictly a remaster, but has slight, but significant changes.

Looks like he won't be able to fly infinitely. Looks like there will be power ups and other mechanics to help him get higher and such, but ultimately there will be limits to how long and high he can fly.
That I like much better.
Alternatively they could have given him a stamina meter and call it a day, but this works too.
I guess I won't pass on this game JUST yet.

But tbh, for it's time Spyro was pretty open world.
The only reason why they went for hub worlds and gates which "connected" the worlds to the hub worlds was because of the severe hardware limitations.
I understood that even as a kid, but I liked it regardless.
It at least fueled my imagination. In many games tricks were used to hide the hardwsre limitations and these tricks became renowned.
Everyone from that time remembers prerendered backgrounds, the doors in Resident Evil which basically replaced the loading screen, the gate and Spyro "flying" for a while.
I am sure that there are many more such examples.
Those are the ones that I instantly remembered.
Most games had generic loading screens which were super boring.
I remember a game having galaga to pass the time while the game was loading.
Nowadays we have an abundance of resources, INSANE processing power and yet game are becoming increasingly less optimized.
Basically, many games get released in a beta state and then finished in the following months and maybe even years.
I am looking at you DayZ and GTA Definitive Edition.
The later can never be called fixed. Rockstar should have scrapped it, reimbursed every customer and tried again.
But of course they won't.
Even if GTA 6 will be an epic game I will never in my life buy it or any other game from Rockstar so long as they won't give me a proper GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition.
Rockstar simply does not exist to me anymore.
