The bad thing about being NEET is the constant anxiety you feel regarding the potential of no longer being NEET. Only NEETs with independent financial and living security can be anxiety-free. Insecure NEETs are always thinking, "I will have to work soon; I will have to work soon. What will I do when I have to work? When I have to work my life will no longer be pleasurable."
Only those who are truly content with any circumstance feel no anxiety regarding the day when their parents, the state, or whoever is providing for them, stops providing for them They will be content to live homeless, sleeping under bridges or in bed-bug infested shelters, collecting pop cans, and eating at food kitchens. They have not have qualms about having limited or no internet access, about sleeping outside when it's below freezing, or about having to be compatriots with drug users and insane people.
If they are not cynically satisfied with a life free of material goods then they'll have no choice but to work.
Or alternately, they will just kill themselves soon after being made not-NEET.
