I remember doing exactly what the kid has done only that nobody told me that Santa wasn't real.
One of my uncles dressed up as Santa Claus and came to us to bring us gifts.
He was dressed well but I immediately recognized him anyway and his voice too.
I told all the kids that is was uncle XYZ and how they can still tell by his face behind the beard and also his voice and that Santa is not real anyway.

My dad was drunk and said exactly this "You think she is the better parent? You have no idea how much your mother tried to end the pregnancy when she was carrying you."
I didn't bother confronting my mom about it because there is no point. I already know so much about my early life and our family's past, I already know she didn't want me from other anecdotes. Hell, neither of them did, but my dad was trying to act like the better half.
