So I finally got around to watching the new star wars movies and my god, I just finished the solo movie and am halfway thought the last jedi, they are literally forcing women everywhere

Female cartel leaders, female rebel generals, female pilots and infantry, female heroes, men are literally just punching bangs and cannon fodder

This has to be a fucking joke, these movies feel like theyre meme videos, I cant relate to this garbage at all, it makes me cringe, its so unrealistic

What is there unrealistic? I thought we have sorted out long time ago, that women are just as "evil" as men. I can totally see them living up to it in a future more egalitarian society.

It's not the females themselves making it trash. The story is just reverse engineered trash trying tot tick as many checkboxes as possible and appeal to the lowest common denominator, but there wasn't put any thought if it fits the universe. Even if the females are annoying and badly written. They are just trying to appeal to current cultural trends. Remove the shareholders' motives and you have free art without this shit again.

The last of the modern star wars movies I watched was rouge one. After that I didn't bother at all. Episode 7 was pretty bad because it was a copy of episode 4 only with different characters and a new setting. They should have stopped making them after that.

Up until last year I owned a few Disney shares. The main reason I bought them was because of the Pixar movies. I thought they were cool and I wanted to own a bit of a company that creates such good films.

I don't even remember that scene. I kinda deleted most of those movies from my memory because I really, really enjoyed Evangelion and those mediocre to downright terrible new movies were like a stain in a previously immaculate sheet.

I don't even hate the idea of strong women. The original series had Leia being pretty tough, and I loved Ahsoka Tahno in Clone Wars and Hera Syndulla / Sabina Wren in Rebels. But they were believable, flawed, limited, and grew...

They didn't seem forced,it feels like they earned a place. The live films don't do this.

There's this video by a youtuber called Keith Woods, in which he talks about how Disney made this movie with a board of market executives, making it as flashy as possible, but completely failing to make a compelling story. Now, Star Wars only exists as a way to sell nostalgia to bugmen/consoomers. BTW his content is amazing, i suggest u guys watch some of his videos.
