My cat has been with me for 12 years now and was practically my best friend throughout my teenage years. He had a severe seizure this morning and a second one in the afternoon. He went rigid and my mom started crying and screaming because she thought he was dead. He just had a third seizure while I was home alone. Seeing a creature that always treated me kindly despite of my looks suffer like this is crushing me. These last few months have been shit and if my only friend in this world dies I don't know if I'll be able to cope anymore.

I'm sorry for this OP. He is lucky for having you I had many many pets you can't imagine how many, I was a shepherd so I know how it feels to lose them.

I have two cats, both over 10 years old, so I know how you feel. My hope for them is that they die quickly.

My parents are going to the vet in an hour to get medication for him. Hopefully it will prevent any further seizures from happening, but he's pretty old so all I can do is hope for the best. When he was having the last seizure I kept calling his name and stroked his fur and held him down so he didn't spasm too hard. His eyes were wide open but he didn't respond. I was so relieved when he lifted up his head again and looked at me. I know he's old and I thought I was prepared for losing him but I'm really not. It doesn't help that my only grandma is currently in the hospital. Finding it hard to cope.

very sorry to hear that man, losing a nice pet hits really hard when you don't have anyone. i'm glad i wasn't there when my poor cat went away, he had a very hard time and i couldn't have handled it.

Sorry to hear about that. My cat is the only living thing I care about so I know how you feel. At least just try make him happy in the last moments. ngl I felt more sad for my cat then a parent's death.
