True Sharia Law can only be implemented by certain people and not be the common folk. Even the early caliphs were pretty horrible at following sharia law and usually just used their position of power for their own self-interests (war and wealth). If God had intended for Sharia to actually be implemented as a form of ruling that people would use in the future, then more clarifications of how the system would function would have been made clear in the Quran.
