[UWSL]Keeping up with the Jurassic World series tradition this one too is a rebranding of old ideas and themes inorder to appeal to nostalgia of the original JP lovers. In that vein they even brought in old cast from the first movie who were clearly past their prime and likely only signed up for the paycheck. Though Ian malcolm was a treat as always since he's the only one self aware enough to know how ridiculous it all is and acts as such. Which somehow fits with this in movie character. [/UWSL]
[UWSL]A lot of the scenes, especially in third act were rehashes/referenced of things in the first movie (dilophosaurus, dna cannister, scenic flight entry ,electrical system heist etc) But they were a lot more subtle about it as compared to the first JW movie which literally threw audiences into Jurassic Park set pieces. [/UWSL]
[UWSL]The second act somehow became Mission Impossible with dinosaurs, which was weird. This time there's no genetically modified super dino, which is a positive to many. [/UWSL]
And of course no JW movie is complete without a final cgi allout dinosaur brawl to the death. Just to remind you of the intellectual standards of these movies.
Expect to see your usual modern hollywood inclusivity bs with shoe horned in minorities, very subtle lgbt references and strong le powerful female characters. Not saying these are bad things in themselves but they are usually signs of a bad script, lack of focus and tick checkbox mentality.
On the plus side the special effects were alright and dinosaur scenes were convincing enough. Its overall a better movie than the second one.
Watch it if you have time to kill
