Ded srs I hate this trope of "le nerds are so nice and polite and wholesome because they know math and geeky stuff and are socially awkward " which seems to be in media and the internets, reddit particularly.

The truth is that most nerds I met weren't nice at all. Because constantly they were bullied give them a tiny bit of power (a group project, a discord server, a videogame clan, a university society, etc.) and they will use it to bully and belittle others as revenge, also they tend to be really elitist and think they're superior than you if you haven't played certain videogames or watched certain shows. Also they love to gossip and collude between your back with fellow nerds, kinda like foids. They love to gaslight people and make them feel inferior (like the popular guys did to them at school) but they're still cowards so only do it to people they know won't push back.

I think it's because most redditards are this type of nerd so they circlejerk each other thinking they're the most wholesome, best educated, best trained, best equiped (quoting a song kek) and the second coming of Christ. When really if they're alone or they're only friends with equally annoying nerds it's for a reason.

Outsiders are primarily just non NTs and/or ugly people. The idea nerd is an outcast is just some Disney movie trope. It’s always been about looks being an athlete doesn’t make you a chad and being good at school with glasses doesn’t mean you will be outcasted.

Nerds often belittle others because they were treated like shit from the childhood and don't respected.
They don't have physical or social power. They can't use their fists or athleticism or success with females to make others respect them.
So these narrow fields in which they specialise are their only weapon to show to the world and they probably don't want to feel superior; they want to be accepted and respected showing how 'knowledgeable' they are.

I think it's not really possible or valuable to interact with most nerd groups if you don't consoom their latest goyslop tranime or video games, because they will just nerd out about it together for hours and you have nothing to do with that.
