It's interesting how the values of a handful of kingdoms and countries thousands of years ago resulted in you and communicating in this language across a complex network of wires and satellites. There probably wouldn't even be an internet. Sometimes I wonder how the geopolitics of the world would look like if kings and nations didn't thirst for conquest. Entire regions of the world would probably be speaking a different language. Technological progress would have probably been much slower.
