Fun fact - PTSD in soldiers is so bad because of them worrying about spouse infidelity, not because of death at the hands of the enemy. Most soldiers spent most of their time deployed not in actual imminent danger, just hanging around, and in that time they have to contemplate their wives or girlfriends being in scenes like your picture.

I read a post on 4chan probably 13 years ago, by a guy claiming to be a psych in the US army during its peak deployment in Afghanistan. His account was that spouse infidelity was the primary cause in PTSD because these guys spent all their time thinking about their spouses cheating, or hearing about their army friends spouses cheating. Quite often their bank accounts would be drained dry without them even knowing, whilst their spouse disappeared with all the cash into the bed of another man.
The stress of that amplified with the stress of a battlefield setting was the main reason troops had such massive psychological problems, because it lowered their psychological "resilience" i.e. their ability to deal with stressful situations. Its the reason why soldiers in WW2 suffered from PTSD far less despite far worse conditions - they knew they may die, but they didn't have to worry about Betty back home fucking Tyrone after emptying her husbands bank account.
After reading the post I looked it up in a bit more detail, and found some interesting studies done. The army has quite strict guidelines regarding this stuff, a wife cheating is grounds for her being kicked off base residence for example, the army knows just how bad it is for troops morale and mental health.
The studies sound interesting, not sure I can trust some random poster from 4chan though.
I would love to see the stats on the soldiers' perception of whether their wives are cheating vs the actual occurrences of cheating by the wives

Occasionally, and more so back in the day, you would get people in really unique positions or have insightful views, and they replies are filled with such well thought out details its easy to believe they are real.
Both are sky high, its basically the armies dirty little secret.
Young guys sign up at 19, are suddenly earning more than they ever imagined they would and have cash to spare. Women notice, decide to lock them down with marriage, but then they end up in a situation where the husband is deployed, and the 20 year old wife sits at home with nothing to do.
The guy was quite specific in that if the soldier had multiple young children, infidelity was almost non-existent versus a couple having no kids.
I do feel a bit sorry for the dude, but things need to get worse before they can get better. More men need to see what society has in store for them.

a private pay grade E-1 get paids $20,170 per year.
Even a E-5 seargent gets paid under 30 grand.

The military only starts paying out when you've been in a few years and you get E-5. Housing, medical, dental, retirement after 20 years.
But they provide you housing, food, healthcare.
