MARION COUNTY, Florida — A man from Marion County is in custody after ramming his vehicle into a deputy’s patrol car.
On Sunday, Deputy Elliot of MCSO responded to a home for a reported disturbance, deputies say. Upon arrival, he attempted to make contact with 36-year-old Geoffrey Gomm who was inside the home.
Gomm became physically and verbally aggressive when he began punching out windows from inside the home. Gomm then came outside and entered a vehicle, against the orders of the deputy.
Gomm backed out of the driveway and intentionally struck the deputy’s car twice. No one was in the cruiser at the time.
Gomm eventually surrendered but remained verbally aggressive throughout the arrest process.
Gomm was placed under arrest for Felony Criminal Mischief, Resisting without Violence and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
