A man's looks only started to matter in recent history. Men were always judged by their social status/income. But in today's world, even getting your looksmatch is next to impossible. Even if you do, not getting cucked is a challenge in itself.
I'd say it's acceptable to aim for your looksmatch (with no makeup obviously), anything beyond that and youre starting to emulate food behavioir.
An ugly male has way more value than an ugly women. Evolutionary biology copers can fuck off.
