Love is something that any human needs to function properly without love it can have life long effects on the brain and a lack of love for a prolonged period of time can often lead to suicide. Lonely have a 50% chance of committing suicide. That means that loneliness has a 50% mortality rate. To put that in perspective.
Lung cancer (the most common type of cancer) has a 45% mortality rate
Diabetes has a 44% mortality rate
Cardiovascular disease has a 47% mortality rate
These all have very similar mortality rates to loneliness however society treats these much more seriously than loneliness well unless of course you are a women
The suicide ratio between men and women is 75% male 25% female so clearly males are not getting the help they need
Here's the problem tho in today's society it is socially acceptable for someone to make fun of a lonely man because he is lonely yet it's not socially acceptable to make fun of a man with any other of these diseases I've listed. That has to change or else more and more lonely males will commit suicide.
