Age of consent was 12 from medieval times to as recently as 130 years ago. It was like this throughout most of Europe.

This is a french movie, more high iq than the trailer suggests. One of the girls is a trad muslim girl who gets tempted by the western way of life -- rebels against her religous parents by joining the girl group, but what looks to be a story girl empowerment turns to a case peer pressure to be a popular e-thot, a minor sexualising herself for likes and subs.

Netflix was simply presenting it as a "You Go Girl" endorsement of thottery and totally missed the point.
