I don't know anything about linux

I'm using whonix for tor but tor won't open, I can connect to the network but the actual application won't open

Just open terminal up and start typeing random commands.
 
Linux Mint checking in, you can just use tor without whonix. I've had tor for a year and FBI hasn't contacted me yet
