"lens distortion" is such fucking cope

literally just think about any time you've found the Instagram of some random foid or normie you know irl, they look similar enough in their selfies that you can immediately tell it's them right? Well that also means that if you look like fucking ass in your selfies and you get very negative reception towards them, you probably look just as bad irl

In my selfies I get told I look like a pedo, a rapist, a serial killer, the whole nine yards, and irl I get treated with the utmost disgust from people, children are terrified of me, people either stare at me like I have 3 eyes or treat me like a ghost or are outright hostile

If lens distortion was really indeed cope then I'd be getting this negative reception in my selfies but not irl, or vice versa, but that's not the case, people irl seem just as disgusted with me as people online are with my selfies, case closed

I will admit it is a very peaceful reassuring cope, to think that it's just lens distortion but if lens distortion was that big a factor then you wouldn't be able to even recognise the aforementioned normies or foids in their selfies, but you still can, you can still immediately see it is very obviously them

mirrors lie to us. They are a vertically flipped image of us and we are used to seeing that. When we see ourselves from a 3rd person perspective, photo, we see the exact opposite. Every single asymetrical and ugly thing you have gotten used to in seeing the other direction now is incredibly obvious and sticks out. It is depressing.
I also look more or less human, like 3/10 maybe in mirror, but in a photo.. by the Gods.... even my hairline looks an inch higher in photos than in a mirror.

i feel for you brocel.

before looksmaxxing i had a mega recessed chin and lens distortion made me look like absolute shit. but what i didnt know is, it looked bad irl too, i was just used to seeing myself irl.

i came to the conclusion that if you have a defect that you feel is enhanced by certain lighting, camera lens, angle etc, then it looks worse than you notice in any conditions.

however camera lens distortion is a real thing and makes people look bad tbh. i'd say it can make a chad or stacy look average. phone selfie cams are shit. you don't look as bad irl but it does enhance defects you already have.
