If marital rape were legalized, husbands and wives would initiate less divorce and cheat less because they'd be able to get what they need(sex and love). Women crave being raped and men crave raping. This is a Christian idea because adultery is the sixth commandment of the ten commandments. Jesus never criticized rape. Hatred of rape is incompatible with Christianity. There's many pro-rape verses like Deuteronomy 22:28-29 and Zechariah 14:1-2.
Divorce is wrong because it increases suicide: "men caught up in the divorce system commit suicide eight times more often than women." Divorce is also wrong in The Bible: "Because God created this organic union of the two sexes, no one should desecrate his art by cutting them apart.” Since divorce is connected to suicide, this is also an anti-suicide verse. Nobody should desecrate God's art by committing suicide.

This is the same point when they started to ban marital rape in the US as Wikipedia says: "Prior to the 1970s, marital rape was legal in every US state and only first became partially outlawed in Michigan and Delaware in 1974, then wholly outlawed in South Dakota and Nebraska in 1975...By 1993, marital rape was a crime nationwide." I'm not sure if marital rape was actually legal though.
