Source:? Patients go to doctors for specific reasons. They don’t go to a doctor to be told how to live their lives. Doctors are paid providers offering a service. It doesn’t give them a free pass to say whatever they think the patient should hear. They take an oath to do no harm. In ANY situation where offending the patient has the risk to do more harm than good, they have an ethical obligation to abstain.

Source:But just saying ‘loose weight’ isn’t helpful.
Even people with the mental and physical discipline to loose a lot of weight- generally those same people end up gaining the weight back. Something about those bodies wants to be at a higher weight.
