I'm not surprised, though I wonder whether he personally likes it, or he just got told to promote it? It would be a waste if it were the latter and he personally hadn't read it, the manga really is quite good. I was annoyed at how quickly it lost its purely-episodic and random nature with the introduction of the Neighbourhood Watch, but honestly, the change isn't much, it had worked well for it, and everything else about it is still pretty good.
