I'm reading "praktischer Idealismus" by Kalergi, and I thought about translating some interesting quotes for you that they probably don't cite on your average Wikipedia summary or European Union anniversary event.

Here is the first one:

A rural officer is stuck, psychologically and intellectually, at the level of a knight. Being tough on himself and against others, loyal, energetic, steadfast and conservative, he lives in a world full of prejudices. Comment: Just like the Jews don't let you read "Mein Kampf" without commentatory, I might want to add how interesting it is that already a century ago, there were similar trends in society. I disagree with his dichotomy though, as @Lebensmüder and I clearly show, you can live in an urban area, be a student and not do physical work, and yet oppose degeneracy as it would corrupt society as a whole.
