Long story short one of my best friends is a mediterranean looking chad who was born in Serbia (he looks like the main character from a series called Poldark for reference) but he is really fucking shit at interpreting signals from women and is generally quite shy and socially awkward himself. He knows about my Inceldom because we've known each other for 20 years and tries to help me through it and years ago he used to literally take me on nights out to clubs to try to set me up with girls...unsuccessfully.
One time we were standing in this club which was quite empty just me and him and these girls came and stood at the next table over. Most of them were average, 4 - 6 at best but were dressed up and faked-up up to scrape 7 for that night only.
He said to me "See! See! Don't look but they are checking you out. I guarantee it. I told you. Just smile at them and then go and talk to them". So I kept glancing around and could see them looking in our direction, one of them made eye contact with me and we both smiled at each other. Then I looked back at my friend and he smiled because he was really happy for me and for a moment I thought "Shit, maybe he is right. It's not like they are supermodels. This may just be an average girl that is interested for the first time in my life".
A few minutes later and he goes the toilet to make a call. I see the girls all whispering and giggling while looking over at me and a couple of them come over to me all excited and one of them nervously says "Hello. Sorry but we were all just wondering is your friend single because a few of us really like him?". My heart sank into my stomach and I realised he had once again misinterpreted all of the signals and that when he got back these girls would be all over him like a rash while I stood on the sidelines. I tried to hide it but she could tell how devastated I was and angrily said "Erm, what the hell is wrong with you exactly?".
When he got back, sure enough they were all over him while I just stood there and watched and he wasn't even interested to the point where he was actually agitated by their advances and suggested we go somewhere else which pissed them off so they left before us. This thing that I had strived for my whole life he didn't even want.
After that he could see how upset I was by it knowing my situation so he said "do you want to go home" which I obviously replied yes to. This was right at the start of the night and we went home after that. He understood and felt guilty for even asking me to come out.
Just thought I'd throw this story on here off my chest.
