I have a 1970 Datsun 240z. These old cars don't like to sit. I try to wrench everything myself and it's extremely fascinating what engineers were able to achieve back then with just mechanical parts and bits. I probably learned more about cars in 2 years of wrenching on that 240z than I learned in a decade wrenching on my newer cars. On the newer cars, you just read codes and change sensors, but on the older ones you truely need to understand how the system works so that you can fine tune the mechanical bits, like setting valve lash, tuning carburators, tuning the ignition, setting sparkplug gaps, etc.
Yes, like that, except it’s a split bumper model, not the ones with the bumper right across like that. Split bumper mogs hard IMO. I’ll send you a pic of what mine looks like in DMs if that’s alright, so you can see what I mean. Just don’t go sharing it around here in this honeypot.
Not familiar with the Datsun 240z. What engine does that have? Pretty cool you work on it. I don’t get into working on the Camaro much because it’s very high end, but I do work on my own tractor and riding mowers. Had to replace the deck drive belt on one, and to do that, you remove the deck hangers, slide the deck out, take the pulley covers off, put the new belt on, and put it together again.
Also had a 17.5 horsepower Briggs and Stratton engine from a different mower apart to put the intake valve seat back in and do a repair. Usually, people junk them for this and give up, but I pulled the head off, and opened the valve for access by turning the engine over some. Then, put the valve seat back in, and used a metal punch to make small indentations in the block around the seat, and this helps hold the seat in. It’s your only chance to save one of these old flathead engines when this happens, because if you just press it in, it’ll keep coming back out.
Got it running again. Needs a new alternator too, and possibly some carburetor work.
Also fixed my push mower and string trimmer which had bad primer bulbs. Took the carburetors apart and replaced the bulb on both.
The comment with the "prey eyes" is hilarious, but also shows that you can't have normal conversation on this forum, which is also pretty sad.
I know, lmao. Prey eyes in reference to a muscle car that can dominate whatever they drive and eat it for breakfast is wild. They really can’t understand that not everything in life is based on the same beauty standards set for human faces. It’s a car, not a person. I don’t know any reasonable person that would say second gen Camaros are ugly.
Yeah, probably. But the whole blackpill "community" is a defeatist crab bucket. Once you're in, it will drag you down, annihilating every last chance of ascension you might have had by turning you bitter and resentful, which is very unfortunate and unhealthy for young people, that's why I would prefer young people to not be around here, for their own good. But yeah, who am I to tell people what to do ... I shouldn't judge people for making mistakes.
I agree with this to an extent. Many people here are very supportive to me, which is something I lack IRL, but there are many who just wanna drag you down. The bucket of crabs mindset here is wild. I have around 5 people here I’d consider “friends”, and if any of them ascended, I’d be happy for them instead of wanting them to stay miserable.
Even for people I don’t really know here, I don’t wish them to stay here and rot. There are only a few really rotten people here that I think truly deserve to be incels.
IMO, people around my age are definitely incels because of how long we’ve been lacking a relationship and sex, but that doesn’t mean we should adopt that crab bucket mentality and wish it stays like this. I don’t wanna be deprived of this shit the rest of my life and hope to ascend. I’m getting a job soon, and my plan is to try to go for women well below my looks level on dating apps to maximize my odds.
