On 3 January 2023, Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/5 authorising the placing on the market of frozen, dried and powdered forms of Acheta domesticus (house cricket) as a novel food was published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

The application for marketing authorisation for cricket flour was submitted to the Commission by the Vietnamese company Cricket One Co. Ltd.

So a vietnamese company is producing these crickets for EU. Agent orange, Vietnam, does it ring any bells? Any crickets that are fed with vietnamese produced feed will contain these dangerous dioxins.
