I've heard about this game but haven't gotten around to playing it because even on sale just the bsase game is 30 and it's 100 with all the expansions.

My usual policy is not to spend more than 10 per game especially if there's no demo to try it out first.

Haven't pirated in a long time but it's tempting for this just because even if it's lots of fun it seems overpriced for the graphics and stuff.

Hopefully the crunch is a lot better but I have other games to try in meantime.

There have been similar issues reported by the community of players that enjoy RimWorld. In particular, they have to do with the sexual preferences of virtual characters in the game — which are generated randomly. It seems that characters that identify as gay or lesbian in the colony simulation are sort of a problem, in a purely mechanical sense. Specifically, it’s very hard to ensure that they’re happy and productive.

This seems pretty realistic IMO. Like let's say homosexuality is 10% (that's being generous) and 10% of your male population, rather than being romantically compatible with 90% of your female population (hetero girls) is only compatible with that same 10% of the male population.

Inevitably they would be less likely to encounter each other and form romantic relationships based on RNG which matches up IRL

Just like IRL you'd need to go out of your way to spend extra effort matching them up, like the bathhouses of old or the grindrs of today.

Also since they don't produce kids they can't get fulfillment from that natural reproduction. Instead you need to either go out of your way to have them adopt kids (which takes intervention and extra aid) or find alternative sources of fulfillment.

Homosexuals talk a lot about how the world is against them, discrimination etc. and I thought they did accept higher levels of depresion and shit?
