People treat you better if you have an anime pfp if you're an ugly man. In spaces like discord where you don't have to show your face, you'd be stupid not to try to get people to perceive you more positively by having an anime pfp. There was an experiment here awhile back showing threads made by users with anime girl pfps got more replies so it even applies to this forum

I remember these types from 4chan. They were especially prevalent on r9k. The ones who always posted some loli and wrote like how some awkward/shy little anime girl would talk. Anyone who's ever used r9k knows exactly what I'm talking about, and they are easily one of the most insufferable types of people on the internet. Every post I ever saw in my years of using imageboards that had a picture of a loli were complete dogshit. Not to mention, despite being weebs, they seem to have absolutely zero interest in any anime that doesn't prominently feature at least one loli.

As to why these guys act like that, it's probably a combination of sub5 + complete isolation + mental illness. They probably started roleplaying as a form of escapism but it seems they lose what little self-awareness they had and lose touch with reality.

I was in a skype group with a guy like this many years ago. Everyone made fun of him except for one guy who defended him because of his obsessive need to be contrarian about everything all the time. He also made an alt account to roleplay with himself but sometimes he wrote the wrong message on the wrong account. We basically only allowed him because he was like our private lolcow. You know a group is weird when I'm considered "the normal one".
